Endo ozna\u010duje, \u017ee se n\u011bco nach\u00e1z\u00ed uvnit\u0159 na\u0161eho t\u011bla zcela p\u0159irozen\u011b a druh\u00fd pojem je odvozen od kanabinoid\u016f, kter\u00e9 tento syst\u00e9m aktivuj\u00ed. Ke vstupu do EKS slou\u017e\u00ed speci\u00e1ln\u00ed br\u00e1ny neboli receptory, kter\u00e9 se nach\u00e1z\u00ed r\u016fzn\u011b po lidsk\u00e9m t\u011ble. EKS je tvo\u0159en dv\u011bma hlavn\u00edmi receptory CB1 a CB2. T\u011bmito receptory pak proch\u00e1z\u00ed kanabinoidy, kter\u00e9 pak EKS vyu\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 k podpo\u0159e mnoha d\u016fle\u017eit\u00fdch funkc\u00ed v lidsk\u00e9m t\u011ble. Jsou hned dva druhy kanabinoid\u016f. Prvn\u00ed si vytv\u00e1\u0159\u00ed na\u0161e t\u011blo samo (endogenn\u00ed) a jejich interakce s receptory zp\u016fsobuje regulaci z\u00e1kladn\u00edch funkc\u00ed (sp\u00e1nek, chu\u0165 k j\u00eddlu, bolest, \u2026). Druhou skupinu tvo\u0159\u00ed exogenn\u00ed neboli z vn\u011bj\u0161\u00edho prost\u0159ed\u00ed z\u00edskan\u00e9 kanabinoidy. Velk\u00e9 mno\u017estv\u00ed jich obsahuje n\u011bkter\u00fdmi opovrhovan\u00e1 droga konop\u00ed. Jde hlavn\u011b o THC a CBD. Jejich p\u016fsoben\u00ed spojujeme s mnoha fyzick\u00fdmi i psychick\u00fdmi \u00fa\u010dinky v t\u011ble. EKS je vlastn\u011b souhrnn\u00fd n\u00e1zev pro n\u011bkolik bun\u011b\u010dn\u00fdch receptor\u016f. Hlavn\u00ed jsou tyto dva:  CB1 Tyto jsou obsa\u017eeny po cel\u00e9m t\u011ble, nejv\u00edce jich nalezneme v mozku, kde zodpov\u00eddaj\u00ed nap\u0159\u00edklad za stav pam\u011bti, emoce nebo chu\u0165 k j\u00eddlu.  CB2 Jsou koncentrov\u00e1ny v imunitn\u00edm syst\u00e9mu, kde pracuj\u00ed na sn\u00ed\u017een\u00ed z\u00e1n\u011btu, objev\u00ed-li se. A jak endokanabinoidn\u00ed syst\u00e9m funguje? Exogenn\u00ed kanabinoidy z\u016fst\u00e1vaj\u00ed v t\u011ble d\u00e9le ne\u017e endogenn\u00ed, co\u017e m\u00e1 za n\u00e1sledek tak\u00e9 daleko v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed \u00fa\u010dinek. Na kanabinoidn\u00ed receptory (CB1 a CB2) se v\u00e1\u017ee THC, kter\u00fd zde m\u016f\u017ee \u00fa\u010dinkovat stejn\u011b jako jak\u00fdkoliv endokanabinoid. Jeho \u00fa\u010dinky jsou vn\u00edm\u00e1ny sp\u00ed\u0161e jako psychick\u00e9. Krom\u011b \u201ezhulen\u00ed\u201c m\u016f\u017eeme o\u010dek\u00e1vat tak\u00e9 p\u0159\u00ednosy t\u00e9to l\u00e1tky. Nap\u0159\u00edklad pom\u00e1h\u00e1 s chronickou bolest\u00ed, p\u016fsob\u00ed proti nevolnosti, navrac\u00ed chu\u0165 k j\u00eddlu, pom\u00e1h\u00e1 p\u0159i astmatu a m\u016f\u017ee m\u00edt \u00fa\u010dinky p\u016fsob\u00edc\u00ed proti rakovin\u011b. Oproti tomu CBD je spojov\u00e1n s fyzick\u00fdmi \u00fa\u010dinky, nev\u00e1\u017ee se ani na jeden z kanabinoidn\u00edch receptor\u016f. Inhibuje ur\u010dit\u00fd enzym, co\u017e m\u00e1 za d\u016fsledek prevenci a zpomalen\u00ed rozkladu andamidu, co\u017e je asi nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00ed endokanabinoid v t\u011ble.
